#NYFW Spring 2016 Obsessions

I have yet to make it to a New York Fashion Week. I’ll continue to dream of attending until one day I make that dream come true. For now, I’ll keep up with fashion week through social media and the internet. Even though I didn’t attend any shows, I definitely have some lines that I am already obsessing over and cannot wait to see hit the stores in Spring. See my obsessions below.

Everything about this is just brilliant. I adore the lace details, the colonial cuts, and the sexy sheer paneling. Not to mention the colors and the floral print. Zimmerman has me absolutely drooling and dreaming of getting my hands on one of these beautiful dresses.

The colors Tory Burch used for this season are beautiful, bright, and bold. I love how the colors give off a bit of a retro feel. Once again, I’m dying over the use of lace. I have a feeling we will see a lot of beautiful lace in spring 2016. I loved every single piece from this show, which it made it really hard to select which ones to highlight.

The Ulla Johnson collection consisted of a mostly soft-neutral color pallette which I loved. This show, along with many others, proved that fringe is here to stay for at least a little while longer. This is perfectly okay with me because I’ve always loved fringe. I’m obsessed with the unstructured, bohemian feel of these beautiful dresses and slouchy pants.

Feminine and beautiful. Those are the two words that come to mind when trying to describe the Carolina Herrera show. This show made a strong argument for pink being the color of the season. Once again, the sheer paneling adds a little sex appeal, but each look still gives off a classy and girly vibe. Totally drool-worthy.

Of course, there were other shows that really caught my eye (namely Lauren Conrad’s first show, Rachel Zoe, and Jason Wu), but these 4 really stuck out to me. What were some of your favorites from NYFW?

Bold But Mini

Just because something is “mini” doesn’t mean it can’t have a big impact. This mini skirt is one of my favorite recent additions to my wardrobe. I’ve already loved pairing it with several different tops for varying looks (think denim sleeveless button down for casual daytime and slouchy tee for running errands). I can’t wait to throw on some black tights and a heavier top when the weather starts cooling down.

Speaking of weather, it’s been so hard to dress lately. One day it feels like fall has finally arrived and the next it feels like the hottest day of summer. That’s another reason I really loved this outfit. It let me bring out some of my fall wardrobe while also allowing me to breathe in this humidity. Open toe booties are the perfect transitional shoe and my fringe bag carries over from season to season.

The Maxi Mainstay

Let’s just say I’m pretty much addicted to fashion. My daytime job is in the fashion industry and I am the type who really gets joy in figuring out new outfits and how to make the current trends fit my lifestyle. One of my favorite fashion mainstays is the maxi dress– it’s so comfortable, easy, feminine, and fun.

IM BACK 003

I recently grabbed brunch with my parents downtown and I threw together this little outfit for the occasion. We sat outside at this great local restaurant on their GORGEOUS patio and enjoyed various forms of eggs benedict and a breakfast burrito as it sprinkled all around us. There was something kind of relaxing about eating al fresco even though it was raining all around us.  After, we strolled around downtown and explored a few shops. A maxi dress and a vest are the perfect daytime look for a random Sunday morning adventure.

Guess Who’s Back?

Hi Friends!

It’s been quite a while since I’ve blogged. There have been a lot of changes in my life (including new job, living in a new place, and lots of new adventures). I’ve really missed blogging and I’ve decided to give it another whirl. I’m going to be sharing with you all a little bit of my day-to-day life. Dress Dine Dwell will continue to be a lifestyle blog focusing on fashion, food, and interior design along with other things that inspire me. Thank you all for following along and if there is anything you would like me to share with you, let me know in the comments!

guess whos back 02

I recently found myself fretting over what to wear to a casual event with one of my good friends. We were going to be outdoors and I wanted to be comfortable in this southern humidity but also look stylish and put together. As I was going through my closet I realized that the answer was right in front of me (in about 5 different forms). I don’t know about you guys but I really, really love this whole romper trend and I would be happy for it to stay around. Rompers are so easy, comfortable, and cool.

This particular romper is one of my favorites. Who could complain about this breezy fabric, loose cut, and feminine print? BCBG just knows how to do it right, and they hit right on target again with this romper. I wanted to get in at least one last wear of this easy-breezy piece before the weather turned cooler and the rompers turned to jumpers.

What do you guys think, is the romper here to stay? Tell me in the comments below!

Burgundy Set

WINE CROP 004

One of my favorite looks recently has been a matching top and bottom. As soon as I saw this gorgeous Lucy Paris combo I knew it had to be mine. The material is so comfortable that I almost feel like I’m wearing a quilt. Of course the color adds bonus points because this rich hue is the color I’m craving most this fall. Just add leopard print shoes, which are basically considered a neutral at this point, and you’re ready to go.

Sunday Six: Ankle Boots

Fall is here and that means the focus is on pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING, cozy sweaters, and boots to keep your toes warm. One of my favorite styles of boot is the ankle boot. They’re perfect for pairing with a cuffed pant, skirts and dresses, or boot cut denim. (i.e. you can wear them with pretty much any thing)

Of course, there are millions of styles to choose from in prices ranging from low 20’s to a number with a few more zeroes. I’ve picked out my six favorites for this fall. Some of these I’ve already purchased and others are on my lust list and will be finding a nice home in my closet as soon my wallet deems it possible.

Favorite Fall Ankle Booties

1. Twelfth St. By Cynthia Vincent Montana Booties
2. Steve Madden Raspy in Burgundy
3. Jeffrey Campbell Suede Rumble Boot
4. DV by Dolce Vita Pellie Bootie
5. The Laurel Peep Toe Bootie by Kristin Cavallari for Chinese Laundry
6. Frye Deborah Short Booties

Sometimes you just need to throw on a tee and your most comfortable jeans (aka these AMAZING boyfriend jeans that I could live in) and head out the door. Those are the days you want to look presentable but could barely crawl out of bed in the morning. Because, let’s be honest here, we all have those days almost every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday… you get the picture.

What’s your go-to outfit for those mornings where the bed just doesn’t want to let you get up? Share in the comments below!

Happy Mani Monday, everyone! When I think of fall manicures I think of coppery shades, jewel tones, and deep colors. The manicures above are my favorite at home manis of the season thus far. I’m hoping to find the perfect emerald green soon! What nail polish are you currently craving?

Sweat(er)shirt

At the beginning of this week the temperature changed drastically. Last week I was riding around in my car with the windows down in short sleeves and yesterday there was snow falling. Although it’s still not cold enough for the snow to stick, I decided to break out some of the warmer pieces in my wardrobe. I just recently picked up this comfy, cozy Free People top that is a mixture of a sweatshirt and a sweater. I’ve decided I will call it my sweat(er)shirt.

Best Dressed: Country Music Awards 2013

When I was a little girl I HATED country music. I have no clue what I was thinking because now I love it… like, a lot! I didn’t really get the chance to watch much of the Country Music Awards last night, but I still managed to pick out my favorite dresses. Below are four of my favorite looks from the red carpet. Jana Kramer was absolutely stunning. The colors in her gown were beautiful and her lip color was fabulous! Of course, the fellas were looking great last night as well (especially Tim McGraw who always looks good to me).
